Share with me the name of a movie that is more recognizable that The Other Sister... you won't find one. If the watcher does not like Comedy type of movies, he will watch the whole movie and have great fun. It is not just a simple film, it has an everlasting message. The Other Sister has a reputation of one of the best films of all time. Garry Marshall made this movie at a great steady pace along with amazing writing. The acting is just incredible (especially Juliette Lewis, I'm sure no one expected that). Not many "excellent" movies that have ever been released. From the start to the end I was impressed, and if you like well done movies I'm sure you'll feel same. The Other Sister is a living masterpiece. This movie is an art, at it's very best form.

Though mentally challenged Carla has many challenges, her biggest is to prove her independence to a more-than-slightly over protective mother to attend college and pursue a romance with Danny, a young man with a similar disability.
