No other film had as big impact on our country as Something the Lord Made had ever since its release. A performance that has no weak moments. The film gave me goosebumps. Something the Lord Made has a reputation of one of the best films of all time. I am a huge fan of Joseph Sargent and this movie was his finest work last time. The acting is just incredible (especially Alan Rickman, I'm sure no one expected that). Something the Lord Made will be forever living movie. No matter how many years passed and no matter how many times you saw it. Is Something the Lord Made the best film of all time? I would put it in my top 5 for sure. This movie is an art, at it's very best form.
Storyline of Something the Lord Made
The movie depicts the relationship between two medical pioneers, one celebrated, one overlooked: the black cardiac pioneer Vivien Thomas and his complex and volatile partnership with white surgeon Alfred Blalock, the world famous "Blue Baby doctor" who pioneered modern heart surgery.
