Scum is one of the most popular movies from Alan Clarke. Brilliant inspiration to many actors and producers, as well as for directors. The film gave me goosebumps. You do not need to like Crime films to enjoy time spent on watching this film. Superb directing by Alan Clarke - brilliant dialogues scenes. I liked the characters, all of them, even the antagonists were unforgettable, especially Ray Winstone. I never liked Crime titles so it's fair to say i never thought I'd love Scum. There really isn't too much else to say. It's definitely worth to see.

Scum is a 1979 British crime drama film directed by Alan Clarke, portraying the brutality of life inside a British borstal through the story of Carlin, a young thug rising to the top of an inhuman prison hierarchy amidst violence, vengeance and sexual assualt.
