The series centers on Al Bundy, a once glorious high school football player turned hard-luck women's shoe salesman living in a fictional Chicago suburb with a miserable life and a dysfunctional family: his wife is lazy, his son is girl-crazy, wisecracking, and his daughter is dim-witted and promiscuous.
