No other film had as big impact on our country as Hamburger Hill had ever since its release. A performance that has no weak moments. The storyline is carefully and smartly written, the characters development is very good written too. That tension created by characters draws the audience in from the start. I am a huge fan of John Irvin and this movie was his finest work last time. It is proof of that - a movie to be very good need spectacular special effects - just made of great acting. When a film makes all of its scenes so influential that you don't want to pick your favorites, you know it is just a great movie. Is Hamburger Hill the best film of all time? The movie is a very realistic interpretation of one of the bloodiest battles of the Vietnam War. Hamburger Hill not only underlines the futility of the war but also the pressures brought to bear upon the troops by an insensitive, often hostile media.
