This film is a masterpiece. Every thing of Bastard out of Carolina is outstanding. A performance that has no weak moments. I still remember the first time I saw Bastard out of Carolina. I saw it in 1996 in cinema. When I watched Bastard out of Carolina online for the first time, I really surprised myself. I am a huge fan of Anjelica Huston and this movie was his finest work last time. Artistry of actors are just magnificent, no actor gave us a weak performance. Not many "excellent" movies that have ever been released. Is Bastard out of Carolina the best film of all time? I would put it in my top 5 for sure. Bastard out of Carolina is a living masterpiece. This movie is an art, at it's very best form.

The movie centers on a struggling South Carolinian daughter who survives a nightmare childhood of physical and sexual abuse while her mother struggles to decide whether or not to leave the man responsible.
